The Adaptation Journeys Institute
The Adaptation Journeys Institute is the leading entity dedicated to advancing the implementation of the Global Principles for Climate Mobility, fostering partnerships for local solutions, enabling policy innovation, and elevating the voices of affected communities.
The Institute advances efforts on knowledge, science and data, as well as adaptation, community climate finance, and resilience. It enables actions to protect the livelihoods, heritage & culture of impacted communities.
It also fosters actions towards the protection of persons exposed to climate chocks, supporting the “right to stay” of affected communities and enabling climate mobility with dignity.
The Institute further enables coalitions for action, serving as the secretariat for the Climate Mobility Elders, and the Friends of the Climate Mobility Global Principles. It supports GCCM flagship global forums, including the Berlin Climate Mobility Forum, the Climate Mobility Summit in New York, and the Climate Mobility Pavilion at the Climate COP, bringing together governments, communities, and partners to advance collective action and solutions.
The Adaptation Journeys Institute implements its mission through three core Practices: the Knowledge Hub, the Solutions Lab, and the Communities Climate Adaptation Facility.
